1899

687 1/2 Martin St., St. Paul

This year the tree is larger and has more decoration, including cones (perhaps for candy) and again, strings of popcorn. Blocks on the floor spell out "Our Xmas," and the children's names, Edith (1), Walter and Edward (2). My father Walter was just three months old.

Last year's doll (on the left) makes a return appearance in a new dress, and a new doll is joins her sporting a crocheted sweater. Back of her is a small white lamb (perhaps a bank) and a metal rooster, possibly mechanical.

On the left, a child's rocker full of oranges makes a good lean-to for some of Ed's photos. That's a Mother Goose book to the right of the tree, back of the silver plate and cups. A few other books and a drum are tucked into the tree.
